ChargePoint a 14 year old company in the Electric Vehicle Charging Infra space started trading on the NYSE this Monday, Mar 1, 2021. The company has positioned itself as the first publicly traded electric vehicle charging company operating across continents. EVgo, a rival to ChargePoint is expected to go public in a couple of weeks from now.
Unlike gas stations most EV owners charge their cars at home using level 2 charges, that are inexpensive to install and convenient incase you park you car in the garage. For those living in Apartments and High-Rises there are options available like shared EV Charging parking spaces. EV Charging stations are specifically important for fleet operators that are always on the move. These would become vital infrastructure for wider adoption on electric vehicles.
Because of the push for electric vehicle adoption at the government level, there are also new bills introduced making infrastructure set a priority.
Land is limited, those that are first to move in the space will reap huge dividends in the long run.
