Mercedes Benz seems quite serious about its electric lineup of cars to counter the competition. The company has unveiled the all new EQB, an electric car based on the existing Mercedes Benz GLB. The EQB is Mercedes’ answer to Audi’s Q4 E-tron electric SUV. The EQB is set to take on the likes of some of the big players in the EV game in this sector like the Audi Q4 E-tron, the Tesla Model Y, Volvo XC40 Recharge and the Jaguar I-Pace. The EQB is the latest to come out of the company’s stable.
This car however is pretty interesting, why? Mercedes is set to offer an option 7 seater version of the car. So you can consider this car not only if you have a nuclear family but also if you belong to an extended family. The company is yet to reveal the full lineup but something what is confirmed as of now is there will be a top of the line spec which will be fitted with Mercedes’ four wheel drive system, EQB 3504 4Matic.

Well underneath the hood of the top of the line EQB 350 4Matic, the car will have to electric motors with a combined output of 292hp. The powerhouse of the car will be a 66 kW Lithium Ion battery tucked below the rear passenger seat. The EQB is speculated to achieve the 0 to 62 mph mark in 6 seconds and will have a claimed range of 260 miles.
Compared to its younger brother, the smaller EQA, with which it shares its key elements of its drivetrain, the EQB is fashioned with its own interior and exterior styling. Mercedes has slapped on a blacked off front grille as there is no need for the engine breathe in the case of electric vehicles and it gets the job
done of differentiating the vehicle from the internal combustion engine GLB.
It will have a bespoke interior with new color combination options including a new rose gold trim for the dash and the air con vents as well as Mercedes’ signature ambient lighting. The
prices are expected to start from $40,000 for the entry level variant.
