Flido has come up with a new offering, an e-bike which is focused on being compact and portable, much more than its bigger brother the D4s and the D11 models. It has a foldable design and it can fold up to a very small size for a bike, that means you can fit it easily in the boot of a car or under the stairs or in the metro and carry it with your city commutes. It has 14 inch wheels which are smaller than the other models which have 20 inch wheels.

The bike has a large comfortable seat with ample of cushioning, padding and dampening with the help of springs under the seats. The bike has a 23 Ah battery and it is removable. Hence when you have to charge it you can simply swap it out and take it along with you and charge it. This e-bike is powered by a 350W motor. The company claims a range of 80-100 km of range. The bike weighs 21 kgs without the battery in the frame, with the battery in place the bike weighs 25 kgs. It is not too bad as compared to the other e-bikes the company makes like the Flido M1 pro with the 20 inch fat wheels, is a lot heavier than this one.

The whole point of this e-bike is being compact and portable, that is why the company has made this product at the first place so that people can fold it up and keep it in car boots or under the stairs that is one of the main positives of this particular e-bike. The way it folds up, the handlebar goes down, the pedals can be folded too, all of this is great but the size of the frame of this e-bike may be an issue for someone who is tall. They may find this bike a little cramped and uncomfortable. The other downside is this bike doesn’t have gears on it unlike the other models of the company, which is another thing to be aware of. It has just a single speed that’s it. That’s the way it is set up. So if you need to go up a lot of climbs, you need those lower gears like the other models like the D4s and the D11 have. So you have to work a bit harder on the pedals in climb scenario. The 350 W motor does have plenty of power to get up climbs and provided the pedalling that you’ll do should get the job done. The top speed on this bike is limited at 25 km.
So, what it really boils down to is it has got all the compact size you need, it has a removable battery which is great, enough power to get you going but you need to make your choice whether you really need a compact size e-bike or no because the trade-off is if you’re a tall person you might not get the most comfortable ride on this particular model. If that’s not the case and you’re looking out for a compact size e-bike then you should go right ahead and buy it.
