Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR – inspired by AVATAR: The name of the ground-breaking concept vehicle stands for ADVANCED VEHICLE TRANSFORMATION as well as the close collaboration in building the show car with the AVATAR team. This concept car reflects Mercedes-Benz designers, engineers, and trend researchers' vision for mobility in the future.
The VISION AVTR, inspired by the world of Pandora, depicts an entirely new connection between human, machine, and environment.

The VISION AVTR is a particularly agile execution of the vision of a dynamic luxury saloon, owing to its four high-performance and near-wheel-built electric motors. The VISION AVTR establishes a new standard for EQ Power with a combined engine power of more than 350 kW. The power of the four totally independently adjustable motors is not only managed in the best possible way in terms of driving dynamics, but also in a highly efficient manner, due to the intelligent and fully variable torque distribution. The revolutionary all-wheel drive with torque vectoring opens up completely new possibilities and ensures the best possible driving dynamics while also providing active safety. This means that, depending on the driving situation, each wheel can be driven independently.
In contrast to traditional cars, the VISION AVTR can move sideways by approximately 30 degrees due to the ability to drive the front and rear axles simultaneously or in opposite directions. Even in motion, the concept vehicle has a reptile-like appearance because of the so-called "crab movement."
The VISION AVTR was designed with a revolutionary electric drive in mind. This is based on a high-voltage battery that is both powerful and compact. For the first time, the innovative battery technology is based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry, which excludes the use of rare, poisonous, and expensive earths like metals entirely. As a result, electromobility is no longer reliant on fossil fuels. The recyclability by composting, which is 100 percent recyclable due to the materiality, is also an absolute revolution. Mercedes-Benz emphasises the importance of a future circular economy in the raw materials sector as a result.

The VISION AVTR's neuro-inspired approach, which includes so-called neuromorphic hardware, claims to minimize sensor, chip, and other component energy consumption to a few watts. The cached current of the integrated solar plates on the back of the VISION AVTR provides its energy. The bionic flaps are made up of 33 multi-directionally moveable surface pieces.
The technology in the vision Avtr impresses with its extraordinary quick charging potential using automated, conductive charging technology, in addition to an exponentially high energy density – compared to today's battery systems with up to 1,200 Wh/litre. This indicates that the battery will be fully charged in under 15 minutes. The revolutionary technology also allows for maximum flexibility in terms of construction space: the battery adapts perfectly to the shared space vehicle concept, increasing the multifunctional interior, with a local minimum of 94 millimetres.
The VISION AVTR has a capacity of roughly 110 kWh, allowing for an electric range of more than 700 kilometres. The high-voltage battery can be recharged with a higher efficiency than established systems while driving thanks to recuperation during roll-out and braking, contributing to the total system's high energy efficiency.

Fusion of interior and exterior design: The VISION AVTR's holistic concept brings together the design disciplines of interior, exterior, and user experience on an unprecedented scale. The inside-out design structure was inspired by several characters from the movie AVATAR and connects inside and outside to create an emotional entity. The VISION AVTR offers a futuristic take on future design with its stretched "One Bow" shape and organic design language.

The multifunctional control device in the centre console, instead of a traditional steering wheel, allows human and machine to merge. The interior comes to life when the driver places his or her palm on the control unit, and the vehicle recognises the driver based on his or her heartbeat and breathing.

Immersive experience space: A menu selection is projected onto the palm of the passenger's hand as they lift their hand, allowing them to effortlessly pick between several functionalities. Real-time 3D graphics, for example, can be utilised to explore the fictitious world of Pandora from various perspectives. The curved display module establishes a visual link between passengers and the outside world.

Vegan DINAMICA leather is used to refine the seats of the VISION AVTR. DINAMICA is the world's first and only microfiber that ensures environmental sustainability throughout the manufacturing process. Karuun, an innovative wood, is used to beautify the floor. Karuun (Rattan) is made from a natural raw material that grows quickly and is collected by hand in Indonesia. The material adds warmth to the space and exudes naturalness.
Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR – inspired by AVATAR is the product of an unparalleled global collaboration between one of the entertainment industry's most innovative companies and Mercedes-Benz, the world's eighth most valuable brand.
